The Mount Kilimanjaro Marangu Route, commonly known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is one of the most popular paths to the summit of Africa’s highest mountain. This route is unique because climbers sleep in mountain huts instead of tents, offering a comfortable trekking experience.
The trek takes you through several ecological zones—from lush rainforest to alpine desert and finally to the icy summit at Uhuru Peak (5,895 m).
The 5-day Marangu itinerary is ideal for climbers who are short on time and prefer hut accommodation. The route covers approximately 60–72 km round trip and reaches the summit via Mandara Hut, Horombo Hut, and Kibo Hut before the final ascent to Uhuru Peak.
