The Rongai Route is the only trail that approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side near the Kenyan border. It is one of the quietest and least crowded routes, making it perfect for climbers seeking a more remote and peaceful experience.

This 6-day Rongai itinerary is known for its gradual ascent, making it relatively easier compared to other routes. It also offers a higher chance of encountering wildlife in the early days and provides stunning views of the Kenyan plains.

Unlike the Marangu Route, Rongai is a camping route, and the descent is done via the Marangu Route, giving climbers the opportunity to experience two different sides of Kilimanjaro.

The trek passes through diverse landscapes including rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and the arctic summit zone, culminating at Uhuru Peak (5,895 m).
